Introduction to Speedflirt

What is Speedflirt?
Speedflirt is a new brand. It's purpose is to organise some of the most flirtatious and fun events imaginable in the UK. Speedflirt will begin by providing speed-dating events across London. Click here to find out more about the founders and how to contact them.

What is Speed-Dating?
Speed-dating helps unattached people meet each other in a fun and safe way. It involves a series of short, one-on-one dates, over the course of an evening. People who have been to a speed-dating event, find it entertaining, but above all safe.

Where did Speed-Dating start?
Speed-Dating started in the USA (not again!) It then spread quickly to Canada, and recently has become a regular event in most European capital cities.

Why has the Speed-Dating concept grown so fast?
Speed-Dating is growing quickly as a form of entertainment because it is enables individuals who want to expand their social circle, a chance to meet between 15 and 30 new and different people in less than an hour.

As a result, it is probably the most effective way to find someone you "click-with" in your area, without any pressure whatsoever.

In summary, if you want something a little different, where you are guarenteed to meet 20 people of the opposite sex in a bar near to where you work, then Speedflirt could be an interesting option.

Why is Speedflirt different?

For so many reasons:

  • we tailor our events to improve the chance of everyone meeting people they will "click-with"
  • we guarantee a balanced male/female mix at each event
  • you can see the profiles of all the people who have signed up to an event, before you commit to doing so
  • your three minute mini-dates are managed in a light-hearted but professional manner - so you can focus on the flirting!
  • the day after the event, we send you a confidential email alerting you of all those guests who said they would like to meet you again (assuming you liked them too!)
  • after the event, we give you unlimited access to the Speedflirt messaging system on the website, so you can make contact with people you have met through us.
  • as a result, you needn't disclose any contact details, not even your e-mail address to people you have only just met (which is why it is so safe)
  • we give you access to the incredible 'Flirt Forum' - a place where our members share insight and nonsense on all sorts of flirting topics
  • we run our events in the best venues - easily reached from your place of work

Before a Speedflirt event

Do I need to sign up in advance?
Yes. This is necessary to ensure a 50/50 male-female balance. Events fill up on a first-come first-served basis, and we cannot permit entry on the door to anyone who has not already paid for their ticket.

Are there any specific requirements to signing up?
We have only two requirements:

  • you must be single and open to meeting new people
  • you must be within the specified age range for a particular event

Can I check who else is going before I sign up?
Sure. Click on a particular event, then click the 'View Guests' button.

Can I come with friends?
The more the merrier! We honestly believe your friends will love you for introducing them to one of our events.

When and where do events take place?
All events take place in top, central locations, usually on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening. Click the 'Events' button to get a listing of all events, their timing and location.

How does the waiting list work?
To ensure a male-female balance at each event, you may be placed onto a waiting list. This happens if there are too many people of your gender signed up for an event. As soon as more people of the opposite gender sign up, you will be taken off the waiting list and confirmed for the event (at which point your credit card is charged). In our experience, this waiting list procedure works very effectively.

What is the entry price?
The price for a ticket varies between £15 and £20, depending on when you sign up for an event. The earlier you sign up for an event, the cheaper it is. We think this is the fairest way to charge for our events, and incentivises people to sign up early.

Can I pay at the door?
No. We need to strictly control numbers before the event. This can only be done if everyone signs up in advance via the Speedfirt web site.

Is my credit card secure?
Yes. Your credit card is processed immediately through the recognised payment provider, DataCash. We do NOT store nor have access to your credit card details at any time. Not even when you're on the waiting list! In this case, we make a reservation on your credit card and only actually draw the money once you are confirmed on an event.

What if I have to cancel?
We cannot give refunds, unless the event itself is cancelled. In this case, we may be able to transfer you to another event - but this decision will always be yours. If you have signed up and can no longer make an event, we suggest you offer your place to a friend - they'll love you for it!

When will I be charged?
Your credit card is only charged once you've been sent an e-mail confirming your admission.

What is my 'username' for?
Your username is an anonymous way to distinguish yourself from other Speedflirters on our website, and ensures no-one gets mixed up when messaging each other.

What is the 'profile' for?
It helps identify each of our guests beyond just their username. We have deliberately kept the profile short and to-the-point. We think you will find it useful after an event, when you want to contact someone, but you have forgotten their username.

Can I sign up to more than one event?
Absolutely! Sign up to as many as you like. Indeed, the more events you attend, the more fun and success you will have!

What if I've forgotten my password?
No worries. Just click on the 'forgotten password' link on the login page. Then simply enter your e-mail address and we'll remind you of your password in an e-mail.

What is your refund policy?
We cannot give refunds, unless the event itself is cancelled. In this case, we may be able to transfer you to another event - but this decision will always be yours. If you have signed up and can no longer make an event, we suggest you offer your place to a friend - they'll love you for it!

During a Speedflirt event

What actually happens at an event?
When you arrive, you will be given a "flirt-card" with all the profiles of the people you will meet printed on it. After each three-minute mini-date, we will ask you to clearly mark if you liked the person you just met. At the end of the evening, we will collect all the cards.

What do you do with these 'Flirt-Cards'?
We do a bit of late-night analysis, matching everyones responses so that the next day we can send everyone, in private via their Speedflirt inbox, that all important message:

     Dear ____________ ,

Thankyou for coming to a Speedflirt event. We hope you enjoyed the experience, met a lot of cool people, and had a laugh. After analysing yours and everyone elses responses, we can give you the following results:

'n' individuals of the opposite sex indicated an "interest in you".

But more importantly:

You have 'X' speedflirt matches (you liked them, and they liked you)

Username 1
Username 2
Username 3
etc.

Use the Speedflirt website to make contact…and have fun doing it!

Kind Regards,

The Speedflirt Team

Is three minutes really long enough?
Let's face it, first impressions do count! Be honest, you usually know within seconds, don't you? We keep it to 3 minutes so you get to meet a ton of people in one night, which in our opinion is the essence of what we are offering. The second date (i.e. the one you organise between yourselves) is where we hope you can have more time and start getting more intimate!

How long does a Speedflirt event last?
Each event should last no longer than 90 mins in total. There is a short break in the middle to revist the bar, etc.

What are the venues like?
We use only top, centrally located venues. They have been selected for their ambience, especially conducive to flirting!

Is there a dress code?
No. Most people just come in their work clothes.

After a Speedflirt event

How do I know if someone liked me?
The day after an event, you will receive a message from us on the Speedflirt website with the usernames of those people with whom you matched. It is then up to you to get on to the Speedflirt web site and send them a message.

Can I have more than one match?
Sure. It all depends on how well you flirted!

How do I send/receive messages?
We've made sending/receiving messages as intuitive as possible:

  1. login to the website
  2. search for the person/people you are looking for
  3. if necessary, check their profile(s) to ensure you are sending to the right person!
  4. click 'compose'
  5. compose message in text box
  6. click 'send'
Your 'outbox' should now be displayed.

Can I block messages coming to me from an annoying sender?
Yes. Use the "contact us" button and let us know who you'd like to have blocked.
